Guru Cecep Arief Rhaman

Guru Cecep Arief Rahman, born in Garut on 18 August 1972, he is a teacher and pupil of the Panglipur School Padepokan Kasundan. With a passion for Bruce Lee he began studying the Pencak Silat at the age of 8 with many Panglipur Masters, Silat ( Indonesian Martial Art) style, which collects different local styles. Guru Cecep studied in the deep the single styles that are in Panglipur, with some depositary teachers of those systems, so he studied with Uwa Ukoh and R. Wawan Dewantara (Cimande), Om Dolf de Vries (Evening), H. Abdul Rauf, Bapa Harun, and H. Azis Asy’ari (Cikalong), Aki Uba (Sabandar), Aa Djadja Widjaya Kusumah (Cikalong Peupeuhan), Kang Gending Raspuzi (Timbangan and Banten styles), Dadi Santoso (Sedayu and Madura styles), H. Syofian Nadar (Sumatera) and others . He started teaching Panglipur in 1991 at his father’s school and then opened his Padepokan Kasundan School, where he trained until 2002. The great skill demonstrated led him to join the competitions and festivals of Pencak Silat from 1999 until 2008. He went in Thailand and France where he won many competitions and he started to spread the Silat in the world. Since 2013 Cecep Arif Rahman has signed with Merantau Movie Production and becomes an internationally important actor taking roles in films such as The Raid 2 (famous as “Assassin”), Star Wars 3, John Wick 3, Skakmat, Iseng, Juara, Bayang and television series.

Con la passione per Bruce Lee ha iniziato  lo studio del Pencak Silat all’età di 8 anni con molti maestri di Panglipur, stile di Silat, Arte Marziale Indonesiana, che raccoglie diversi stili locali. Guru Cecep approfondire lo studio degli stili confluiti nel Panglipur con alcuni insegnanti depositari di tali sistemi, come Uwa Ukoh e R. Wawan Dewantara (Cimande), Om Dolf de Vries (Sera), H. Abdul Rauf, Bapa Harun, and H. Azis Asy’ari (Cikalong), Aki Uba (Sabandar), Aa Djadja Widjaya Kusumah (Cikalong Peupeuhan), Kang Gending Raspuzi (stili Timbangan e Banten), Dadi Santoso (stili Sedayu e Madura), H. Ha iniziato ad insegnare Panglipur nel 1991 nella scuola del padre e poi aprì la sua Scuola Padepokan Kasundan, in cui si allenò sino al  2002.   La grande bravura dimostrata lo portano ad unirsi alle competizioni e  festival di Pencak Silat dal 1999 fino al 2008, per cui si reca in Thailandia e Francia dove vince molte competizioni.  Avvia quindi un’opera di divulgazione del Silat nel mondo.
